As much as I adore fallout, I'm getting vaugely tired of it. There are only so many ways to play it. However, I need to get my post apocalyptic fix from somewhere else, Any suggestions? Graphic novels, video games, movies, anything visual will be fantastic.

Something disturbing i heard about fallout 3 [05 Aug 2005|11:43pm]

We all know Bethesda picked up the slack on the Fallout 3 project. I was't too worried at the time 'cause i know bethesday can weave a pretty good yarn.

Heres where bad ol' Murphey kicks in. We all also know that Bethesda has a fascination with First Person View games. I've heard from more than one source that Bethesda scrapped the graphic work so far and traditional Isometric view for their obsession with FPV. Thus turning Fallout 3 into an RPG FPS, what the hell are they trying to do? A Sci-Fi Morrowind?

Just thought i'd give this a run by you guys. Hopefully to dispell my fears

My attention was brought to a certian game that preceded fallout, and fallout 2.. wasteland. the unnoficial prequil. It was made by ea and interplay in 1988.. Does anyone have a copy that I could steal from them?

This would be great if someone could direct me to a link or something. THANKS!

Taking Fallout Screenshots [14 Apr 2005|12:16am]

I'm trying to take some screenshots inside Fallout, but all I'm getting is really dark, bitty images. I suspect it has something to do with colour settings, but does anyone know anything about it?

My method is simply pressing Printscreen and pasting to graphics editor.

EDIT: A friend told me about FRAPS. It's fantastic.

What Fallout sites do you regularly visit? I used to visit quite a few, but currently only have No Mutants Allowed bookmarked.

Hi, I'm new [16 Oct 2004|03:43am]

[ mood | confused ]

Anybody know where I might be able to find a black/purple robe like he hubologists/bridgekeeper wear(s)?

Also, why the fuck is Cassidy suddenly out to kill me? I can't tell him to wait cos he immediately starts attacking me. I've not killed any children, my karma is fantastic, and I have not aquired any titles that I've read about him attacking you over. Any ideas?? I mean, I heard if you/your guys accidently shoot eachother enough they may turn hostile, but the only one who gets shot accidently is Vic(which I read can turn him into a jerkoff but even he's fine with Wait Here). Can I fix Cassidy's behavior, or am I stuck with him till he dies?

Thanks for any input :)

Edit: I guess it doesn't matter anyhow, I ran out of time :\ Guess I should spend less time exploring. *cries*

Bethesda Softworks picks up Fallout 3 [03 Aug 2004|03:04pm]

Apologies if someone posted this already. I haven't been around lately.

I for one couldn't be more thrilled. bethesda has put out four of the games I have played the most and loved. I can't wait to see how they handle it.

I am not familiar with the name mentioned in the press release, though, so I cannot say how he'll do with it.

Just more random stuff that only the Nyx cares about :>

Fallout 3 Licensed To Bethesda [12 Jul 2004|11:15pm]

Bethesda Softworks to Develop and Publish Fallout 3 July 12, 2004 (Rockville, MD) -- Bethesda Softworks® announced today that it will develop and publish Fallout® 3 -- a sequel to the highly popular Fallout® role-playing game franchise. Bethesda licensed the rights to the Fallout® franchise from Interplay Entertainment Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IPLY) in a deal that awards Bethesda exclusive worldwide rights to the Fallout® franchise on the PC, home consoles, handhelds, and other media, with the option to develop and publish additional sequels. “We’re extremely excited about this opportunity and what it means both for Bethesda and for Fallout fans around the world,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “Fallout is one the great RPG franchises. Millions of Fallout games have been sold worldwide, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of a Fallout 3 title. Bethesda’s proven expertise in this genre, building on our experience and the tremendous success we have enjoyed with our cutting-edge Elder Scrolls® series, will enable us to create the next chapter of Fallout that is worthy of the franchise.” Originally released in 1997, Fallout places a player in the role of a Vault-dweller, who ventures from his secluded, underground survival Vault into a post-apocalyptic world of mutants, radiation, gangs and violence. The game has been widely hailed as one of the outstanding role-playing games and video games of all time with its unique gameplay, style, and setting. Commenting on this development, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, “This is a good agreement for both companies and for gamers. Although several parties had a high level of interest in licensing Fallout, we are most impressed by Bethesda’s execution of role-playing titles. Bethesda is an ideal steward of the Fallout franchise.” Fallout 3 will be developed by Bethesda along with the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls, both under the direction of Todd Howard, executive producer of The Elder Scrolls. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® won every national and international award of note in 2002, including Game of the Year and RPG of the Year, and is one of the best-selling games ever released on Xbox. “We are overjoyed,” said Howard. “Fallout is one of my favorite games, and we plan to develop a visually stunning and original game for Fallout 3 with all the hallmarks of a great RPG: player choice, engaging story, and non-linearity.” Future announcements about the release of Fallout 3 will be made as work on the title progresses.

MMORPG Fallout? [26 Jun 2004|02:25pm]

So the cash-strapped Interplay, unable to pay rent or employees, is talking about a massive online Fallout. So not only do we get Fallout 3 canceled, revived, possibly canceled again... and now this. I doubt it will ever see the light of day, and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, looking at Fallout:BoS.

Read the news about it here!

Fallout 3 news. [07 Jun 2004|09:44pm]
[ mood | hopeful ]

So from my understanding, looking for a fallout 3 from interplay is hopeless, however, I've heard that all the people from black isle that got laid off when interplay closed it went to start their own company. So the new company, Obsidian I think it's called, may buy the licenses to fallout3 and Baulder's Gate3.
Has anyone else heard about this? Any confirmation on it?
